It's important to understand that once osteoarthritis develops, it can't be cured. The goal instead should be to help your dog by manage their condition. Switching from a soft and low bed to an elevated orthopedic dog bed is already a huge step in helping them adjust to their changing body. For many dogs, especially those whose arthritis symptoms aren't too severe yet, this can already make a noticeable difference. You might see less limping, less visible discomfort when they get up, and an overall boost in energy from better sleep. While your dog's arthritis won't disappear, their pain and discomfort can be significantly reduced.

When it comes to helping dogs with hip and joint problems, the firmness and stability of the bed's foam layer is often the single most decisive factor, because that's what gives your dog's joints the extra support when they need to get up. It's hard for dog owners to test the dog bed themselves, but you will notice that ZNOOZ's foam base is significantly firmer than other dog beds, and much more laterally stable.

Our large orthopedic dog bed is equivalent to extra large for most other brands, and our extra large is equivalent to XXL dog beds for them. With our current sizing, even the biggest breeds like Great Danes should fit comfortably on our XL bed. However, if your big boy/girl is above average for their own breed, or has a history of not fitting in their XL bed, make sure to compare the measurements of our XL size with your existing dog bed to see if it's really big enough for them.
